The Acronis main screen came up and I selected full version but then the screen returned to a blank screen. I then tried booting from 2 different Acronis rescue CD's, both of which I've used successfully in the past. I uninstalled, cleaned the Registry, then reinstalled TI but that made no difference.

I tried another image archive with the same result I got Acronis to validate the image archive and it's OK. I loaded BIOS defaults but that did not help. It gets to the point where I'm asked to click on 'Reboot' then the screen goes blank and stays that way I've let it go for up to 23 minutes but no result, just the blank screen. It was fixed under warranty by Lenovo but when I now try to restore from an image on a USB external hard disk the process fails. My ThinkPad recently failed after a BIOS update, taking 20 minutes to boot. I've used the program successfully for some years.
